There Are Things That I didn’t Totally Trust God With
I used to walk in the Spirit, but there were other areas where I didn’t surrender, without me consciously realizing it. For example, school. While I immersed myself totally in the area of serving God in my ministry, I didn’t fully listen to the voice of God’s counsel when it came to study in school.
Whenever I tried to do school work depressive thoughts and regretful thoughts just came and attacked me. I was stressful and didn’t feel satisfied no matter how hard I tried. There was no sense of joy and peace.
Things of the past dragged me down.
I wondered why it wasn’t that way in other areas, such as my ministry life. It all seemed pretty easy to listen to God’s guidance and walk step by step with Him in ministry.
Struggles With Some Problems For Too Long Make It Hard Not To Seek Outside Of God
Because of this sense of handicap and inadequacy I had in school and career for a prolonged time, I began to seek outside of God. ( not really outside of God because I’d walked with Him daily, I just failed to realize the solution was God Himself, who already walked with me daily. The Solution had been there all along.)
After a while, I came back to God and realized that I didn’t need to seek else where. God is the same for every part of my life. I can rely on Him and trust Him.
If i experienced success and revival by listening to God’s voice and 100% obedience, I can experience the same things in other areas as well, even for areas where I had traumatic experience of failures.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
If we simply listen to God’s voice instead of the enemies’, depression and confusion will fade. He is the expert comforter, no man speak like Him.
The next time you feel inadequate and insecure, just draw near to Him, listen to His loving voice, and you will find strength and productivity with whatever you got stuck at previously.

Not only you, I can sense that even pastors or deacons at church would fall into the same trap (not to mention me). It’s not easy, and not until recently I realized that I need to “use” my spirit more (one way to more effectively listen to God’s voice, but I am still searching more practical methods).
I think one practical way is to communicate with the Holy Spirit throughout the day. Simply talk and listen and jot down His messages.
