The Power Of Spoken Words

I have just been reading The Tongue-A Creative Force, by Charles CApps

The thing it teaches is profound, but not exactly new. I learn that in the past many years God has given me bit and piece about the power of our words.

I used to think of the power of our tongue  in terms of  “Scriptural Prayer”.  ” Scriptural meditation”, and “Scriptural rebuke (Satan)”, but I never thought in term of the power of mere spoken word itself.

The self help gurus often teach the Law Of Attraction. I agree that Vision and positive thinking can help somewhat in achieving the goals one wants to achieve. Although the gurus were self-centered, rather than God-centered, they somehow realized the power of thoughts and words.

If, combining our spoken words with God’s own words and His own perfect will, the result will be even more astounding! And we will have eternal rewards, starting from NOW. We can speak blessing on everything we do, authoritatively.

The book also convicts me of times that I spoke evil, dis-powering words that subjugate my own successes and well being. For example, I used to repeatedly explain the condition of my eyes (Heavy astigmatism), the fact that I failed at landing a good job, question God why I often got beaten by addictions, and etc.

Almost everything bad in my life can be traced back to the way I empower them by how and what I say.

Simply pray about my situation wasn’t enough; I have to speak the words of faith right after I pray!!

Below is a quote from the book, The Final Quest, by Rick Joyner.

“My word is the power that upholds all things. To the degree that you believe My word is true, you can do all things.
Those who really believe that My words are true, will also be true to their own words. It is My nature to be true, and
the creation trusts My word because I am faithful to it.
“Those who are like Me are also true to their own words. Their word is sure, and their commitments are trustworthy.
Their „yes‟ means „yes,‟ and their „no‟ means „no.‟ If your own words are not true, you will also begin to doubt My
words, because deception is in your heart. If you are not faithful to your own words, it is because you do not really
know Me. To have faith, you must be faithful. I have called you to walk by faith because I am faithful. It is My
nature.
“That is why you will be judged because of the careless words you speak. To be careless is to care less. Words

Those who really believe that My words are true, will also be true to their own words. It is My nature to be true, and

“That is why you will be judged because of the careless words you speak. To be careless is to care less. Words

have power and those who are careless with words cannot be trusted with the power of My word. It is wisdom to be

careful with your words, and to keep them as I do Mine…

You began to experience the power of My words. To be entrusted with My words is to be entrusted with the power by

which the universe is held together I did not do this to make you feel small, but to help you understand the seriousness

and the power that with which you have been entrusted—the word of God.

“In all of your endeavors, remember that the importance of a single word from God to man is of more value than all

of the treasures on earth. You must understand and teach My brethren to respect the value of My word. As one

who is called to carry My words, you must also respect the value of your own words. Those who will carry the truth

must be true.
