Generational Curses, spirits, and self-inflicted curses

Yesterday I brought 4 books: 10 Curses That Block The Blessing, Blessing Or Curse You Can Choose,The Torch And The Sword, and Commanding Your Morning.

Recently I have been doing a lot of self-deliverance from generational curses, evil spirits, curses invoked by my own sins, and self-curses. The more I did it, the more curses I found by the revelation of the Spirit.

For example, I used to meditate on the biography of king David, which helped me a lot as I emulated some of his good qualities, but I was also afraid that one day I might sin the way he did. If a man of God like David sinned so heavily out of a sudden, how could I stand a chance?

In ignorance, I spoke my doom. I told myself, “What if I sin like David?” This became a verbal curse which set up a self-fulfilling prophecy that would fulfill a couple of years later. At the age of 24, I fell into a sinful habit of lust, for the first time in my life. The following three years had been a very struggling period of pornography (2 years) and self-gratification. (The single most helpful resource that I think had delivered me from lust is this webpage)

I also read pirate manga online. The more I complained about this habit the more I gave power to it (verbal curse). The managa websites contains a lot of manga, and most of those Japanese managa feature superhuman power, folks tales, witchcraft, alien, lust, and more. Almost every story line that I found attractive had to do with something that God said would bring up curses in my life. I wasn’t aware of that.

My entire family lines on both the father and mom side had a long history with idol, bitterness, verbal curses such as gossips and negative talks, occult, witchcraft, tax-evasion, violence, adultery, and more. I never really made a clear list of those sins until l learned that what had been going on 3-4 generations up can bring curses upon me.

I mentioned in my earlier posts about my regrets, wasted years, missed opportunities, depressions, confusions, and all. In the book, Blessing Or Curse You Can Choose, the author Derek Prince explained that depressions and confusions indicated the effect of a curse that came from sin of occult.
Although I was already a very dedicated Christian who had a very intimate relationship with God, and God can testify it for me, I was suffering the evil influence and oppressions of the curses, without being aware of them.

When you are encountering mounting difficulties and failures, it’s easy to procrastinate, to be negative. It’s also easy for your friends, families, and other people to criticize you for being lazy, lacking confidences, and all that. The overwhelming negative talks make you feel guilty. It’s called dishonor! When you are under curses, you lose honor.

This is like rubbing salt on wounds. Successful or normal people who have easier time than you do tend to think that they have come to where they are by sheer willpower, positive thinking, and hard work. What they don’t know is you are under the power of the dark force that is invisible, which has the ability to sabotage your success, cause you to walk in circle, manipulate your thinking and emotions, and etc.

The negative remarks that people shovel into you simply introduce new curses and reinforce the existing ones, which add fuel to the flame.

Many Christians, who finally found out that there were a dark force working behind the scenes to cause them to fail, were absolutely sincere and devoted. By all means they should be blessed tremendously by the Lord, but instead they suffer a long history of unexplainable confusion, failures, frustration, wrong turns, and the whole nine yards.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

My experiences verified this truth – ignorance kills, it doesn’t matter how sincere or devoted you are, if you lack crucial knowledge, it costs you big time. By God’s grace, many of us Christians have discovered this truth in time, before we get destroyed. I am not joking, curses can kill and probably have killed many Christians already, and some of them probably ended up in Hell. (Once saved always saved? See this webpage series or my biblical analysis)

Thank God these curses can be broken very easily, if we consciously confess the sins of our ancestors, our own sins, and call the name of Jesus Christ and His blood over the deeds or events or sins that caused those curses, those curses will be nullified.

Romans 10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Derek said in his book that he sees many people get healed or their situations improved almost immediately once the curses were gone.
